Short Post, Long Weekend

2 Sep

It’s Friday! Yay! It’s a short work day for me which is even nicer, plus a 3 day weekend. What are your plans?

Last night after work I went straight to our friends’ house. They have a 2 year old, that is Jeff’s goddaughter, and we babysat her while her parents went to her preschool for parent night. It was a good excuse to be able to get some quality time in with their precious daughter and then hang out with them when they returned.

While they were gone I made a dinner out of butternut squash and some arugula.

That ravioli was so good!! It was a fun night all around.

After we hung out past our bedtime we came home to find a birthday girl that had partied a little too hard (she’s 21 in dog years).

Cute girl :)

I had a regular smoothie for breakfast this morning with almond milk, spinach, frozen banana, mango, and Sun Warrior Protein. It was my usual combination, but it tasted even better because Jeff made it for me.

I’m working for 30 more minutes, taking a co-worker to lunch for her birthday, then running around like a crazy person, and trying to get a workout in before our flight at 8! We’re heading up north to see Jeff’s family and celebrate his grandfather’s 90th birthday!

Please Tell Me:

What are you plans for the long weekend?

Something In Your Hair

1 Sep

Is it really already September?? I feel like summer just started. I don’t know where the time goes…

I hope you’re having a great day so far. Last night after I sweated and wanted to cry during Just Weights and Zumba, I went to Mexican with my Just Weights class. It was our teachers last night, which is another reason I wanted to cry! I didn’t take any pictures, but I had a taco salad. It’s funny how you eat less chips when you’re sitting next to your super ripped group exercise instructor. Just sayin…

After my morning walk with the pups (4 out of 4 days this week!) I headed to work and had the same breakfast as yesterday.

Breakfast Gang

Not pictured is the banana I also ate. Funny story about this breakfast…

Yesterday as I was eating the same breakfast comprised of the ingredients pictured above, I was talking with a coworker who so kindly told me I had something in my hair. He believed it to be makeup, but after consulting a mirror, I discovered it was almond butter! I guess I had gotten a little overzealous applying it to my toast. I was more careful this morning.

We ordered Logan’s Roadhouse in for lunch. It was waiting on my after I got back from my lunchtime Zumba class.

My order was a sweet potato and broccoli. They were a bit stingy with the broccoli I’d say, but since they have the best sweet potatoes, I’ll let it slide. I had mine with a bit of butter and cinnamon.

Today is my sweet Polly’s 3rd birthday!! Dexter just turned 3 and I said it with him too, I can’t believe Polly wasn’t even in my life 3 years ago today. It wouldn’t be the same (or as loud) without her.

This was the day I got her. She looked SO different as a puppy. I say someone stole my puppy and replaced her with the Polly we have now.

She loved her brother from the very beginning. I think he liked her too :)

Happy Birthday Pollyanna!

Butter And Toast

31 Aug

What exciting plans do you have tonight? We are watching Freaks and Geeks over here! I thought the last disc we had was the final one, but we got another one today in the mail. It’s the little things…

Breakfast this morning was nothing unusual, toast with Earth Balance and Almond Butter, but it was extra good thanks to my Udi’s bread! This is becoming a new fave quickly.

With coffee and a banana on the side. Why is toast and “butter” just the best combination ever?

I took a super late lunch and was about to eat my arm off, when my last Masala burger came out of the freezer and rescued me! I really need to stock my freezer better for situations like these!

I topped it with avocado, tomato, lettuce, and the curry sauce my burger was made for. Yum!

I’m sitting on the couch with Dexter sipping some green tea before Zumba and Just Weights.  Polly is making sure no one walks in front of our house. It’s a job she takes very seriously. Oh, no squirrels allowed in the yard either!

Have a great night, see you in the morning!
